I went to see X-Men on Friday with Shane and Walt. I'd have to agree with most of the reviews I've read that there wasn't enough character development, that it was mostly an action movie. By no means was it a bad movie though, I enjoyed it.
On Saturday, I went up to Palm Harbor to pick up Mark and bring him down to St. Pete. Shane went with me for the ride. I offered to take everyone to Clearwater Beach for dinner, but we ended up going to a steakhouse in clearwater. I mainly wanted to sit somewhere outside, because it was a beautiful day.
That evening, Mark, Shane and I went to Alibi. Shane was our designated chauffeur for the evening. It was pretty busy, and then, right after Mark and I had got drinks, the power went out. Not all of it, but the AC was out, most of the lights, and the sound system in the rear of the bar. We were kind of warm, and decided to go to Grand Central, it seemed like a lot of other people did too.
It was karaoke night there, which was only minimally entertaining. We ended up going back to Alibi for a bit, and then going back to the house. We considered making more cocktails, but instead opted for sleep.
On Sunday afternoon, Mark and I went to the beach, which was packed. We finally found a place to park at St. Pete Beach. It was so nice to just hang out on the beach and relax. I hadn't done that in almost a year. The last time I did it was in June, and I had a horrible allergic reaction to red tide, which kept me away from the beach all summer, as red tide lingered all season last year.
Mark and I spent a couple hours at the beach; laying out, going in the water, and laying out some more. On the way back to the house, I called Shane to see if he'd want to get food to barbecue. I came home, showered the sand off of myself, and also waited for Mark and Shane to get ready.
We went to the grocery store and got supplies, Shane did the grilling, while I made salad and got other things ready. It was a nice dinner; Shane, Mike, Mark and I ate outside, and then sat there for a while before cleaning up.
Sunday evening, we had planned on going to Suncoast. Mark's birthday was Monday, and that was what he really wanted to do. We actually went kind of early and as soon as we got there, Shane and I did a shot of tequila. Suncoast was pretty packed, and they had Bonnie Pointer, of the pointer sisters performing. The 3 of us were standing in the crowd watching when this guy in front of us, who was obviously a big fan, turned around and said to our amusement, You guys are too young to understand, She was a goddess.
Mark bought us all another round of shots- kamikazes. Shane and I danced at Luna for a bit. When we first got there, the dance floor was empty, and then slowly people started actually dancing. lol. So, when it got crowded, we went outside. We ran into Justin, and his roommate, who hit on me profusely, but I was drunk and didn't mind the attention. ![]()
Um, what else, ran into Robert. Lost Mark... Ended up being at Suncoast way too long looking for Mark. I drove Mark back to his house in Palm Harbor late on Sunday, and then went back home. Wasn't feeling too great, needless to say...
