My website has been down for several days. I was out of town and didn't realize it until last night. There will be new posts, but in the meantime, check out new pics here: http://iconsulting.us/coppermine/

So, today is my 6th day off from work. I went to the optometrist yesterday and had an eye exam. I'm getting new contacts, and I picked out some glasses. They are Ralph Lauren, and I think they look cute. As soon as I get them, I will have to take some pictures for on here. :)

So, I woke up on Saturday morning at 5 AM, after going to sleep at about 11 or so. I did about 4 loads of laundry on Friday, packed, cleaned, was sooo busy, so it wasn't a problem to go to sleep so early.

Woke up, showered, got dressed, finished packing last minute things like my toothbrush, body care items, etc. I was listening to music, ATB, of course... and actually dancing around my room. At 5 AM! LOL, so I knew I was excited. Shane woke up a bit later and came downstairs as I was filling up our coffee mugs. Thank god our coffee maker brews automatically on a timer. ;) Shane was all freaked out because a giant spider had attacked him while he was trying to brush his teeth. I saw it, it was giant and nasty. It had a pattern on its back like an eye... It was creepy. I sprayed it with Raid, it started coming towards me, and I was like, I'm out!

So Jiganesh came to our house at 6 and we smoked a cigarette (Jay has a no smoking vehicle) and left on our way. I got some cool pictures of sunrise across the Skyway Bridge. The ride down was pretty uneventful. I was surprisingly awake for it being that early. We stopped around Ft. Myers for breakfast at McDonalds, and then ventured through alligator alley. We stopped a couple times for smokes and photo ops. Some of the rest stops are absolutely disgusting. We stopped at one that was just completely full of litter. And one of the pieces of litter that we kept noticing at different rest stops, and even under a bridge in downtown Miami, was discarded underwear... ?

I started driving halfway through alligator alley. The drive from here to there is super easy. It is one road, 75, pretty much all the way. So, in Miami, on whatever road goes to downtown, Shane told me to exit, as he was navigating, in charge of the directions. We took the wrong exit, but ended up being able to take regular roads south to our hotel, the Radisson.

Now, we had a problem because the festival started at 11, and the hotel check in time was 3 PM. So, we parked, and I went in with Shane to see if I could check in. No clean rooms. So, we got our stuff from the car, and walked to the festival, which was right down the street.

It was a gorgeous day, and I got to see a lot of downtown Miami, and noticed a lot of things I hadn't before. Such as, they have an above street-level rail system, which looked cute, but we didn't take it anywhere.

We got to Bicentennial Park around 12 or 12:30. There were 3 large enclosed stages, under tents, 2 giant, side by side outdoor stages, and one little one, which was kind of lame. So, we started having a couple beers, and listening to different DJ's. One in particular that we all liked was DJ DRC. She kind of reminded me of Alix, actually, her mannerisms, and the way she looked, which was funny. She totally rocked. Shane went to take a picture of her, and she posed blowing him a kiss. Unfortunately, the camera was still powering up, so he didn't get that one. He got a good one nonetheless.

After DRC finished, we hung out in the grass by the large stages. There was a band playing kind of Jazz/Reggae with a DJ and a lady alternately singing and playing the flute. It was intense, but really cool. I was also pretty drunk at that point, and wanted to sit down and chill out in the sun.

I found a flyer with the schedules for the different stages and saw that ATB was coming on at 5 on Stage A. So before 5, we made our way into that tent and towards the front. There was a DJ playing who was really good, and had packed in a crowd, so I gradually made my way all the way up to the barrier in the front, a couple feet away from the stage. I was dancing my ass off, all the while, scanning out back for ATB. Then I saw him! I felt like a 15 year old girl. I grabbed Shane and screamed at him, "I saw him! I saw ATB! There he is...!" And then we waited.

ATB came on stage with his entourage, and I was standing in the front row with my ATB shirt on. He started playing Ecstasy, and then it just stopped. He came on the mic all pissed off with his German accent and told us that they hadn't hooked up the record player for him, and all of his stuff was on records. He said he'd have to play the CD's he'd brought.

I was kind of disappointed, but ATB put on a great performance anyways. It was seriously one of the best hours of my life. I took a whole bunch of pictures, but since my digital camera was new, and I never took the time to RTFM... A lot of them were out of focus. I got some good ones though. Shane and I were right up front the whole time. ATB played some really good music, and conducted the crowd really well.

So, on Wednesday evening, after a very busy day at work, I ran a couple errands and then picked up Shane. We went to Wal*Mart to buy food for Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone else had the same damn idea though... It was a mad house. We managed to make it out with our lives, though I was run into by some guy's cart.

Shane and I came back to the house and started going through the 10 or so bags of clothes in the living room. We lit a fire in the fireplace and brought a stereo into the living room. We sorted all the clothes, finally, after several hours.

We started making some food for Thanksgiving. I was making desert items, and Shane was making deviled eggs. I had talked to my friend Kevin earlier, while I was at Wal*Mart, actually. So he said he might stop by later, or go out with us. Instead, he just shows up. I'm in the middle of making food, I was still in my work clothes, hadn't eaten anything yet... So I wasn't exactly ready for company when I heard the knock on the door. Typical Kevin... He also was a little more spaced out than I remembered. Like, he didn't remember people that I was talking about, that I KNOW he knows... lol, and oh yeah, said he is going back to school to become a lawyer...

Anyways, so, I then finished making my pie, made food and ate it in front of him... Then we hung out for a while on the porch. Walter was gonna have me come pick him up after he got home from seeing a movie. So, since Kevin was there, and Shane and I didn't have to work, we decided to go to the Male Room. Cengiz was gonna meet us there after he got off of work. I tried calling Jiganesh to see what he was doing, but couldn't get a hold of him.

So, I got home today, after a rather dull day at work, and watched Flight Plan. It had a really interesting plot, that kept me guessing. And Jodi Foster was kick ass, as usual. After that was done, I saw I had a message from Mike. He was asking me if I would go with him to Bob's to clean out his clothes.

So we did that. Well, I did. Mike couldn't. Bob's house looks exactly like it did the last time I was there. I couldn't help but think of that great night in the spring, when we took Liza and her friend to Bob's and out to dinner to send her off to Boston...

Well, I had a great weekend. I got a lot done, and it was relaxing. It also helps that I know I'm going into a three day week with a 6 day break after the three days. :) So, on Friday, I didn't do anything. I was actually ready to go to bed at 11. I was in my PJ's, when Justin called and asked if I wanted to get drunk. LOL. So I got dressed and he picked me up. We tried to hit up the liquor store, but they were closed. There were also about 5 cop cars in the parking lot. So, we went to the gas station in the hood. Everyone was buying blunts... I bought some beer and coca-cola. Then, on the way to McDonalds (cuz Justin was hungry), all the cop cars flew by us, then we saw them covering an entire block, pretty much. It was like the entire St. Pete police force... Shoulda watched the news to see what that was about.

Then, we hung out on the deck with Shane, Mike, Mike's friend Tony, and had a bonfire. It was great. I kept 'accidentally' making my drinks super strong, so I got REAL drunk.

The glove compartment isn't accurately named
And everybody knows it.
So I'm proposing a swift orderly change.

Cause behind its door, there's nothing to keep my fingers warm
And all i find are souvenirs from better times
Before the glow of your tail lights fading east
To find yourself a better life.

I was searching for some legal document
As the rain beeat down on the hood
When i stumbled upon pictures i tried to forget
And that's how this idea was drilled into my head

Cause it's too important
To stay the way its been

There's no blame for how our love did slowly fade
And now it's gone it's like it wasn't there at all
And here i rest where disappointment and regret collide
Lying awake at night

There's no blame for how our love did slowly fade
And now that its gone its like it wasn't there at all
And here i rest where disappointment and regret collide
Lying awake at night
All night
When i'm lying awake at night...

It is Friday. This week flew by. Which is a good thing, I suppose. I don't really have much planned for the weekend, however... I think I'm just going to have a relaxing weekend at home. I'm going to Miami next weekend, so I can't really beat that...

Last night, I entertained myself by taking about 75 pictures with my digital camera (the old one, I still haven't gotten the one from ebay :( ). The pictures were of Shane and I. Then I imported them, cropped and edited them. It was fun, and it took a good portion of the evening. Then, I uploaded them all to the photo gallery, which has a sizable amount of photos now. I also tweaked some of the gallery settings, added ads, and set up an account for Shane.

Anyways, if you want to see them, do so here.

Co-worker: Oh, there's my stapler! I was looking for it.
Boss: Actually it's my stapler. I own this company; everything here is mine. I'm just letting you keep it at your desk.

So, it was a full moon yesterday. I didn't escape the normal craziness that ensues when that happens. Well, Jiganesh was leaving for a wedding today, so he couldn't come over to help us pick out accomodations for Miami. Expedia was down for a long time (full moon, i'm convinced), so I ended up having to use Travelocity, which was driving me crazy. I picked out a hotel, which was the second furthest one away from the Bicentennial Park. The room was about $150. Went through the whole process of setting up an account, entering credit card information, and then what happens... It takes me to a page that says, sorry, that room is no longer available, please select another.

So I was all pissed off and frustrated, and then realized that the selections available were for the closest hotel, the Radisson, for way less. The rooms were originally $189, but they have a 'government rate,' which I called and asked about. So apparently, I am eligible for this rate. $108 for a room with a view of the bay. We'll see how this turns out, I guess. But anyways, we have reservations, so that's one less thing I have to take care of.

So then, for some reason, I felt like going out. I needed to buy cigarettes, so I dragged Shane along with me as we went to the gas station and then to the Male Room. Walter had said on Sunday, specifically, Will you come over on Wednesday. He didn't have to work. So I tried to call him... Text messages, the whole works. To no avail. So whatever... Cengiz came and hung out after he got out of work with his roommate.

So, it's Tuesday. Yay. Last week went by really fast, and I have a feeling this week will as well. I went out on Thursday evening with Mike and Shane. I had an OK time. I drank too many long islands. Danced, had a good time, etc... We drove back home, and driving up the street (note: I wasn't driving anywhere...) I saw a Jack Russell running in the street, so I screamed to stop the car, got out, got this dog, and Shane and I took it to the house. It was soooooo cute. But stinky. So Shane and I showered it off in the outside shower and dried it off.

It still stank after that. At that point, I was drunk, and kind of over it. It went under the house, and I didn't see it again.

Shane had to work on Friday. I felt bad for him. I spent the day mostly in bed, watching CNN with the covers pulled over my head. lol. I finally decided I needed to motivate myself, and picked Shane up from work and went to the mall. Got a haircut, and bought a present for Cat's Wedding.

Jiganesh called me at some point and asked if I wanted to go out. I did. He came and picked up Shane and I. We went to City Side for a little bit, which was fun, but not what I was in the mood for. Then we went to Chamber's, and got there a little late, but it was cool.
