Omnium Finis Imminet -- the end of all things is near

5:11-13— "Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels surrounding the throne […] they numbered myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, singing with full voice. […] Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and under the sea, and all that is in them, singing …"

9:3-4— "Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given authority like the authority of the scorpions on the earth. They were told not to damage the grass of the earth or any green growth or any tree, but only those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads."

9:6— "And in those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will flee from them."

13:2-4— "And the beast that I saw was like a leopard, its feet were like a bear's, and its mouth was like a lion's mouth. And the dragon gave it his power and his throne and great authority. One of its heads seemed to have received a death-blow, but its mortal wound had been healed. In amazement the whole earth followed the beast […] and they worshiped the beast, saying, 'Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?' "

17:1-5— "Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, 'Come, I will show you the judgment of the great whore who is seated on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and with the wine of whose fornication the inhabitants of the earth have become drunk […] The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations … and on her forehead was written a name, a mystery: 'Babylon the great, mother of whores and of earth's abominations.' "

And finally, most chillingly of all:

12:1-5— "A great portent appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant and was crying out with birth pangs, in the agony of giving birth. Then another portent appeared in heaven: a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. […] Then the dragon stood before the woman who was about to bear a child, so that he might devour her child as soon as it was born. And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron."

I was going to end with the words that close the Book of Revelation: "The one who testifies to these things says, 'Surely I am coming soon.' " But to glance at the entertainment news, it looks like He's already here.

So I had this dream last night. It took place over what seemed like a long time. I was in a lot of different settings, and I lived in this awesome old wooden house. I think for part of the dream I was at a party, or a club or something. I was there with a bunch of friends, no one in particular. I think I was drinking or fucked up somehow. I don't really remember much from that part. Typical.

The strangest part was when I was getting ready to leave my house to go somewhere. I remember thinking that I should turn off the lamps in my room, I had some lava lamps, and stuff like that. I thought, I never turn them off, but this one time will make a difference. So I turned off two lights, and went to the third one, which was a glowing translucent plastic torso and head. I reached for the switch, and the lamp started talking to me. I know, right. But yeah, it started telling me all this crazy stuff, about how it had a soul and it wanted to be human. It started crying.

Well, I'm home on my lunch break. Not in too much of a mood to eat. I walked in the door right as Liza was leaving. We said our goodbyes, and now she's officially on her way to Boston. Leise went back to NYC earlier today.

I had the strangest dream last night. I can't even describe it right now, maybe later, it was so weird. Anyways, work is going well. I'm busy today. I'm sitting at the computer, listening to the Mariah Carey CD - The Emancipation of Mimi. It's Hot! I recommend it, so go out and buy it. It's $9.99 on the iTunes music store.

Anyways, I'm gonna check email and smoke a cigarette here, so this is kinda short.

Well, Mike, Liza, Leise and I just got back from eating at the Ramada. It was really tasty. I had some excellent spicy shrimp. Before that we had crackers and wine at Mike's boyfriend's house. It was a good night. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I just had the feeling that something was missing. I was kinda distant throughout the evening.

So Liza is leaving tomorrow. Moving out. She got a job in Boston that she is taking. Liza has been our roommate since January. Not very long. It's kind of sad to me, I never really got the chance to get to know her. Neither of us are home very often, and what I'll remember most is seeing her on the days we both came home from work on our lunch breaks. It just kind of makes me sad, because I really had a good time tonight, and I guess it just sucks that she's leaving.

Anyways, wow, a lot has happened since the last time I wrote on here. Matt and I got back together last Sunday. Through everything that has happened between us, I still felt an intense connection to him, and genuinely believed that things would work out. They didn't, and on Thursday we parted ways once again. It is so strange to me that someone that is so dear to me and who I like sooooo much, I just can't seem to make things work. I still care about him a lot, and want to keep him in my life. I guess we're both just in very different places in our lives. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I dunno, I had a lot on my mind lately, and I need to get some rest for work tomorrow morning. So I'll hopefully write something on here sometime soon. Sorry it's been so long.

Well, I just got back from Alibi. It was a definite good time. John wasn't there tonight, but I saw this guy who I know that I know from somewhere, and he knows me aparently, cuz I got a wink. Haha. Awesome. Anyways, who else was there, oh, this guy, Marc, that I was talking to online earlier just happened to show up. Also, I saw Sean, and he said he saw Joe. Lol. When I told him what Joe did to me, he was like, oh, that boy is so fake, and I was like, you have no idea. Then his friend who said he was from NJ offered to have him knocked off for me. Also awesome. Anyways, I'm talking to Shane, so I'm out.

Hey. So, I went out last night with Chad in his fantastic little rental Mazda with the Boom Boom. lol. We went out with Victor and Travis. First stop, the Vault. OK, I really like the Vault. It was large, there were surprisingly a lot of people there for Friday night in St. Pete. I'll definitely have to stop by there next Friday, or maybe the Friday after, cuz I think I may be out of town next weekend. So we had a couple drinks there, but the main goal was to go to Chambers, so we were only at the Vault for about an hour.

Chambers was surprisingly not busy. There was no line, and they reduced the cover from $12 to $10. I had fun there. I was bought a couple Grey Goose and Cranberry's, or as Victor drunkenly called them, Grey Goose and Vodkas. lol We also did a shot, I had a Red Headed Slut- my favorite. After the club, we got in the car, and Chad told us all that he was on ecstasy. So he drove back to Clearwater to drop off Victor. I had to pee something fierce, so we went inside and stayed for a little bit.

On the way back to St Pete, we stopped at a checkers and got food. It took forever, and this homeless guy started asking us for money. Chad talked to him for a long time and asked him all kinds of questions. Then he was like, "What if I told you we were cops?" I started busting up laughing, and Chad started talking into his cell phone headset, "Uh, we need backup at the Checkers on 34th and 1st." "10-4" OMG, I was dying. The guy was like, I think I'm gonna just go get some coffee from the gas station, and ran across the street. It was fucking hilarious.

So we dropped off Travis and Chad took me to his house, cuz I had never seen where he moved to. So we end up messing around. Um, and then I got home around 8 AM. Yeah, I slept until 5 PM. lol

Well, I came home from work and passed the fuck out. It was so nice. I haven't taken a nap in, well, a long time. I woke up around 9 ish. I saw Chad last night at Alibi, and aparently arranged to go out with him tonight. He rented a car and we are going to The Vault, formerly known as The Bank with a friend of his. He's running late. Typical.

Anyways, I felt so ill today. Argh. I finally recovered. Somewhat... I think the nap helped.

Oh, in other news, I got a call from Shane earlier. Our friend, who shall remain nameless, from back in High School, who is pregnant, is HIV+. Shane just found out and he was very upset. I don't know really what to think of it. I mean, how much more fucked up can that situation get. I thought it was bad enough she was pregnant. *Sigh*

The pope is dead
Did anyone know the Vatican has a website? How creepy is that. I dunno, personally, I'm tired of hearing about this one. The pope to me, represents an old ideology that is no longer useful to our society. I can't say that I've ever heard anything the former pontiff said that inspired me. I think of his anti-choice, anti-safe sex, homophobic and anti-woman doctrines. I'm not saying he's all bad, just not of any use to me. I don't understand the attempt to deify someone who was, in fact, just a man. It's very strange to me.
As far as "world leaders" go, the papacy has to be the strangest. The pope's only real power is to tell people

The pope and communism
...But elsewhere in the old Eastern Bloc, the pope's impact was at least a couple of steps removed from the courageous decisions that ordinary people made to head out onto the streets and march in protests that they fully expected would be met with absolute resistance from the Soviet forces and their local puppets...

On not mourning the pope
...Unbelievers are more merciful and understanding than believers, as well as more rational. We do not believe that the pope will face judgment or eternal punishment for the millions who will die needlessly from AIDS, or for his excusing and sheltering of those who committed the unpardonable sin of raping and torturing children, or for the countless people whose sex lives have been ruined by guilt and shame and who are taught to respect the body only when it is a lifeless cadaver like that of Terri Schiavo. For us, this day is only the interment of an elderly and querulous celibate, who came too late and who stayed too long, and whose primitive ideology did not permit him the true self-criticism that could have saved him, and others less innocent, from so many errors and crimes...

Can I just say how happy I am that it is Friday. It had a bumpy start though. I went out last night to Alibi. Which was fun, aparently too much fun. I danced with this really cute couple for a while. They seem nice, and live pretty close to me. Their names, however, escape me completely. This aparently made Kevin kind of mad, which sucks, because I want him as a friend, but he seems to expect something more...  (More)

After work on Friday, which was payday, I went up to the mall and spent far too much money on a haircut, and then even more money on clothes. But I enjoyed it, and talked to Jay while I was at the mall, he wanted to go out. So I get home and Mike is here with a friend, and as soon as I walk in the door I get myself a smoothie, and I ended up getting pretty drunk. Later on, I wasn't feeling up to going out, but Kevin kind of got impatient with me when I didn't answer my phone a couple times. I eventually did and we went to a party at the dorms at Eckerd. It was fun, but oh my, that place is ghetto.

On Saturday, Jiganesh, Kevin, David, Walter and I went to Alibi. It was pretty damn fun. I spent all my money and was all confused when I went up to get a drink at last call and didn't have any left. Haha. But David bought me one so all was well. Jiganesh and Kevin followed me back to my house afterwards, where we drank smoothies and smoked until really late. I woke up on Sunday and tried to replace my rear brakes. I tried unsuccesfully for about two hours to remove the brake drunk, which is fused to the center of the wheel. I gave up and put the tire back on. I talked to my Dad and he gave me some very technical advice- get a big hammer and wail on it. OK, so my neighbors are gonna be real happy when I get around to doing that again.

Oh, good news, my vacation got approved. 10 days of no working. How fantastic is that. May is gonna be a fun month. Mike is getting a 2 bedroom cottage on Indian Rocks Beach for the whole week of his birthday. Since I'm single now, I guess I'll have to have one of my friends stay there with me. I think I mentioned something about it to David and Walter.

Speaking of being single again,

Current Mood:

Sleepy Sleepy
