So, I finally got a check in the mail from my Dad for my birthday yesterday. Yes, a month late, to the day. My birthday present was, oh yes... a new multifunction office machine.

So I went to Office Depot yesterday after work and had already picked out the one I wanted online. They looked for it in their stock room for a while, but then finally decided that they didn't have one in stock.

So the manager said that I could have the next model up for the same price. Now, I was already debating on 2 models that were the same price, $129, one had more features and better resolution, but was larger, and didn't have the camera memory slots. I decided to get the larger one, even though I didn't like the way it looked. But, since they didn't have that one, I got one that is even BIGGER.

I'm talking big. But I got the $200 printer for $129. It's pretty damn cool. It has 2 paper trays, so I can load photo paper in one and regular paper in the other one. The scanner and copier are all really easy to use. But it's BIG! I had to literally rearrange my room so I had a place to put it. My computer is literally taking over one side of the room. I have the printer on it's own stand, with the computer desk to the right of that, dual monitors, keyboard, mouse, tower, all that good stuff. Laptop sitting on the desk. Next to that is the stereo that the computer is hooked up to. Next to that is the TV, which is so neglected, and needs to be moved out of my room. I almost put the printer there, but decided not to. Yeah, and then, around the corner on the wall is my projector stand, for watching DVD's and downloaded videos.

Which, speaking of downloaded videos, can I just say, I love that iTunes sells videos now. It's fantastic. Yay, let's put cable companies out of business. I want to watch what I want when I want to watch it. Yeah, TV stations and cable companies are bitching because people don't have to tune in on Sunday nights anymore to watch Desperate Ho's, they can download it for $1.99 on Monday and watch it whenever they want, however many times they like. So, that cuts into TV's audience, which cuts into the TV stations' advertising revenue. So they lose money, and that's a problem... God forbid technology makes something convenient for people... LOL

What else is new...? Hmmm. Shane stayed home from work yesterday and took his drivers safety course. Oh yeah, and one of the questions that he got wrong was this: (paraphrased, of course)

Crack increases defensive driving practices? True or False

Shane picked False, thinking that being high on crack would make a person drive a little bit aggressively. WRONG! So, aparently, we should all be driving around strung out on crack...
Oh wait, I've been to Tampa...

But he passed, and he is on his way to being the proud owner of a 1990 BMW 325i. Yay. Walt passed his permit test on Friday, he was all excited and called me. :)

Walter also purchased the domain name: http://waltpreston.com , so you can visit his home on the web. Also, I have begun planning on Walt Preston dot Com version 2. The version out now will also be getting some revisions in the near future. OK, that's it for now.
